The Best is Yet to Come! I believe that with all of my heart. Sunday, October 19, we begin a three-week sermon series on Philippians and each week we will be exploring God’s call to be the best versions of ourselves. We will discover again how faithful stewardship of our time, talents, and treasure can help us develop the best heart, the best ambitions, and to live the best life – a life truly worth living! This will be a very meaningful time for our congregation, and we ask each person in our church family to discover how they want to express their love for God through generous giving.
Your Pledge Card is included with this letter. Why is it important to take this step? Your prayerful, intentional efforts to ask God for insight, and then act upon your decision, will express your love and gratitude for God in a personal and tangible way. Your estimate of giving confirms your desire to be fruitful. It also enables the church to plan for and implement ministries throughout the year. As your pastor I encourage you to prayerfully consider growing into giving the Biblical tithe (10% of your projected income), for this is the way God has instructed us to grow in our trust of Him.
The gifts we are asked to give to God include not just our treasure, but our time and talents. To this end, we have included a Service Commitment Form for you to prayerfully fill out indicating the ways you would like to serve the church in 2026. Giving calls us to put our trust in God as we give away resources to be used to further His Kingdom. Fulfilling our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world will only be possible if we are each willing to offer up our gifts in cheerful generosity to God.
Our pledge cards and service commitment cards will be dedicated on Sunday, November 2, during each worship service, and we ask that you bring them with you that morning. If you are not able to attend worship that Sunday, you may turn them in at any time to the church office. If you have questions or need to talk about special ways to give to the church, please contact me or Carla Barnett in the church financial office. Let us pray for one another during this important time in the life of our congregation. Thank you for all you do to further our mission. The best is yet to come for you, for us, and for our church!
God’s Peace,
David R. Saliba
Pastor
