AGE-LEVEL MINISTRIES

Children's Choir Volunteer - (K-5th grade) adult volunteers for rehearsals/performances

Sunday Morning Nursery - assist in nursery (once per month)

Sunday School Volunteer - lead or assist small group in Bible stories, lessons, and games (curriculum provided)

3 A. M. Time Volunteer - interact and play with children and assist with worship and snacks (8:30-10 a. m. Sunday)

3 A. M. Time Check-In Desk - greet and assist parents with check-in

Wednesday Night Volunteer - assist with Bible stories, music, hands-on activities, and games

Third Grade Prayer Partner - mentor and pray for a third grader

Vacation Bible School - help prepare, plan, and decorate; help with music, snacks, crafts, games, or leading a group of children

Sunday School Volunteer - assist in leading/teaching Sunday School (curriculum provided)

Sunday Evening Meals - provide meal for youth

Sunday Night Volunteer- assist with youth fellowship and worship

Wednesday Night Bible Study Volunteer - serve on youth retreats and mission trips

Trip Chaperone - serve on youth retreats and mission trips

Serving Events - help with Harbor Serve Day(s) and athletic team meals

Small Group Leader - lead small groups (curriculum may be provided)

Sunday School Teacher - lead Sunday School on Sunday at 10 a. m. (curriculum may be provided)

Bus Driver - transport children on field trips, particularly during summer.

Classroom Assistant - read a story, lead songs, be an extra set of hands, rock a baby (volunteer's availability choice)

Teacher Treats - help set up a meal or snack for staff (quarterly)

Weekdays Chapel Storyteller - present preselected stories to 3 & 4 year-olds during Weekday Ministry Chapel service (Wednesdays at 9:30 a. m.)

ADDITIONAL SERVICE AREAS

Book Nook - organize and maintain reading materials (1-2 hours per month)

Bus Driver - drive for events and trips

Data Entry - input attendance (volunteers serve on rotation basis)

Receptionist - answer phones in the front office

Ground Care/Building Maintenance - assist with the upkeep and beautification of the grounds, such as pressure washing, tree trimming, window clearing, etc.

Communications Assistant - assist with publication preparations, sound checks, event/Sunday setup, etc.

Content Team - help with the creation 

Photographer/Videographer - photograph/video church events for publications and other media (training provided)

Social Media Ambassador - engage with church posts, and share events, videos, etc., on your own social media channels periodically to raise awareness and tell the church's story

Tech Assistant - assist with cameras, sound, slides, 

Baked Blessings Ministry - bake and freeze casseroles or soup for those with new babies, those released from hospital, or those who are sick

We Care Meal Team - prepare a dish to feed a family for a funeral mean as need

 Acute Care Visit/Delivery - visit members in the hospital or deliver meal or flowers to those released from hospital as need

Make Phone Calls and Follow Ups - provide care through calling ministry to homebound member or those who have been on the prayer list

Visit Homebound/Nursing Homes - offer care visit to member who  are homebound or in nursing facilities (could include delivering communion)

Flower Ministry Arranger/Deliverer - arrange altar flowers into smaller vases and /or deliver those arrangements to homes (Mondays)

Note Cards - write and send notes to those on the prayer list (materials provided)

Prayer Shawls/Blankets - knit, quilt, or crochet prayer shawls/baby blankets at home (instructors and yarn available upon request)

Support Group Facilitator - host specialized group care about grief, divorce, cancer, or other

Special Events - assist with serving food, serve as a greeter, or assist in setting up and breaking down events

Wednesday Night Supper - assist in setup, serving the meal or serve as a cashier

Class/Program Instructor - facilitate a class or recreational activity

Coach - coach flag football, volleyball, or church basketball

Recreational Camps - serve during summer sports camps or other camp activities throughout the year

Referee - officiates games during church basketball season

Scorekeeper - continuously logs score over the course of a game during church basketball and /or volleyball season

ADDITIONAL MINISTRY AREAS

Coffee & Refreshments - assist serving refreshments between worship sercies

Golf Carts - help people who need to get around the church campus on Sunday

Greeter - greet guests at worship and special events

Hospitality Event Team Member - serve food, decorate, prepare & host, assist in post-event tidy-up during scheduled events

Parking Lot Greeter - greet guests, offer assistance in parking area.

Welcome Table Volunteer - give directions and information to guests.

Blood Donor - donate at least twice a year at blood drives

Bread of Life - help with packing food bags to distribute to food insecure local school children

Christmas at The Harbor - help with gift wrapping and serving dinner for families in need

Church Party - help serve food, play games, or drive a bus for special needs children

Disaster Response Team - serve others with clean up and/or repairs following catastrophic events

Harbor Serve Day - help serve breakfast, distribute clothes and hygiene items, and join in street ministry

Help Hands - help those in need of minor repair work at their homes

In Christ's Name - assist team with interviews and helps people in need (Monday mornings)

Meals on Wheels - deliver meals to elderly (once per week)

Mission Experiences - go on cross-culture mission experiences to provide construction, medical assistance, evangelism, prayer, etc.

Our Adopted Schools - help with special events at FUMC's adopted schools: Girard, DCS Head Start, Slingluff

Recreational Missions - help host recreational outreach events

Rise Against Hunger - participate in meal packing events for food insecure people around the world

Santa for Seniors - pack food bags during the holiday season for senior adults in the Wiregrass area

Serve as One Day - pack bags for food insecure senior adults in the Houston County

Supply & Serve School Supply Bash - organize school supplies, pack backpacks and help distribute to local school children

Treat Trolley - serve snacks and gift baskets to local teachers

Acts of Praise - perform in worship and special services (music, dance, poetry, art)

Instrumentalists - perform in worship services or special events

Chancel Choir - serve as a continuous or seasonal choir member

Westminster Handbells - rehearse and perform in the adult handbell choir (ability to read music is helpful)

Music Library Volunteer - catalogue sheet music into a computer database and/or organize, label, and file sheet music in the physical library

Cheerful Chimers Volunteer - (K-5th grade) adult volunteers for rehearsals/performances  

Confirmand Volunteer - (6th-7th grade) adult volunteers for rehearsals/performances  

Worship Arts Camp Volunteer - (1st-6th grade) adult and teen volunteers for July 6-9, 2026.  

Robe Steward - help clean, steam, and care for adult and children’s choir robes

Respite After Hours Helper - meet as needed to prepare crafting supplies and projects for program use  

Respite Care Delivery/Outreach Team - deliver meals and flowers, write cards, or make calls to caregivers and previous participants  

Respite Lunch Crew - assist with setting tables, serving meals, and clean up (one day/week or month, or on a regular basis, 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.)  

Respite Volunteer/Care Partner - assist Respite friends with activities, meals and games (Monday - Thursday, 9:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.)  

Rosemary House Volunteer - provide information regarding resources in our community, offer fellowship and support to caregivers  

Rosemary House Garden Volunteer - assist with seasonal planting and maintenance of our Rosemary House Garden  

Special Event Helper - help with set up and take down for workshop and volunteer events  

Share Special Talents/Gifts - provide devotions, lead exercises, share musical talents, special skills, or hobbies at Respite  

S.T.A.R.S. (Student Training in Alzheimer’s and Respite for Summer) - for 9th to 12th graders interested in learning more and volunteering

Easter Egg Hunt - assist families with children as they hunt eggs in Walton Garden, the playground, and church lawn  

Cross Raising - help raise a cross on the church lawn in honor of the resurrection of Jesus Christ  

Stations of the Cross - assist youth as they perform a moving 14-scene depiction of Jesus Christ on the day of His crucifixion  

Blessing of the Backpacks - help as students and their families gather to bless their gear for the new school year  

Christmas Production - this is a special holiday service  

Hanging of the Greens - participate in this special event as we decorate God’s house with the Chrismon Tree, wreaths, garlands, candles, and more  

Promise of Christmas - donate winter items including food, blankets, and clothing for The Harbor  

Church Clean-up Day - assist with beautification and clean-up of the church buildings

Bible Study/Small Group Leader - lead and facilitate small groups in relationship and spiritual growth  

Children’s Ministry - assist with Bible lessons, games, activities, and supervising children (Wednesdays & Saturdays, 6 p.m.-7 p.m.)  

Grow at The Harbor - provide gardening, harvesting, planting, and other care needs weekly  

Intercessory Prayer Teams - pray from home or at The Harbor (Fridays, 6 p.m.)  

Mentor - develop one-on-one spiritual and life mentoring (one hour per week), based on mentor’s schedule  

Provide and Serve Meals - families, groups or individuals serve/minister (Saturday mornings and evenings, and Wednesday evenings)  

Saturday Morning Community Day - assist with clothing, hygiene, groceries, showers, laundry, prayer teams, children’s teams, garden teams, and serving meal, (Saturdays, 7:30-10:30 a.m.)  

Street Ministry - distribute essential items, offer prayer and fellowship with community members in need (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays, (times may vary)  

Wednesday Serving Day - prepare and sort clothing, hygiene items and/or food pantry, etc. (Wednesdays, 7:30-10:30 a.m.)  

Worship - participate in worship, prayer teams, and serving the meal (Wednesday and Saturday, 5:30-7 p.m.)

SANCTUARY  

  • Acolyte/Server Team - assist with coordination of acolytes and servers  
  • Altar Preparation - prepare altar for Sunday morning worship (communion, paraments, etc.)  
  • Audio/Video Operators - operate cameras and/or sound equipment (training provided)  
  • Flower Team - arrange flowers for sanctuary services as needed or when not provided by a florist  
  • Holy Communion Server - help serve Communion in Sanctuary worship  
  • Usher - assist in seating service attendees or receiving offering during worship

THE BRIDGE  

  • Audio/Video Operators - operate cameras and/or sound equipment (training provided)  
  • Flower Team - arrange flowers for Bridge services as needed or when not provided by a florist  
  • Serve Team - assist in seating service attendees or receiving offering during worship/help serve Communion in The Bridge worship  
  • Instrumentalists - perform during worship  
  • Vocalists - perform during worship
