Palm Sunday: Worship & Reenactment

Palm Sunday Morning
Palm Sunday Reenactment & Worship
Sunday, March 29
Join us as we begin Holy Week together with worship, celebration, and a special Palm Sunday reenactment on the front lawn at First United Methodist Church Dothan.
đż Special Palm Sunday Reenactment â 10:00 a.m. (Front Lawn)
At 10:00 a.m., our church family will gather outside on the front lawn for a meaningful and memorable Palm Sunday reenactment led by our Confirmation Class.
The crowd will line the palm-lined walkway in front of the Chapel and Sanctuary, waving palms and shouting âHosanna!â as Pastor David tells the story of Jesusâ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Our Confirmation students will reenact the journey â including a very special guest: a live donkey named Hosannah! đ´
As palms wave and voices rise, youâll be invited to imagine what that first Palm Sunday may have felt like. Itâs a joy-filled and meaningful experience for all ages as we prepare our hearts for Holy Week. Palms will be handed out on the front lawn as you gather for the reenactment.
Sunday Morning Worship Services
Palm Sunday will also be celebrated in all of our regular morning services:
8:00 a.m. â Chapel Communion Service
8:30 a.m. â Traditional Worship (Sanctuary)
8:55 a.m. â The Bridge Contemporary Worship (Fellowship Hall)
11:00 a.m. â Traditional Worship (Sanctuary)
Before entering each service, you will receive a palm cross to wear as we remember Jesusâ entry into Jerusalem.
At the 8:55 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services, children will have the opportunity to process with palms, and our Childrenâs Choirs will help lead worship with special music.
đś Childrenâs JAM Time
Children attending the 8:30 and 8:55 services will move to JAM Time in the gym after they sing at 8:55. Check-in and pick-up will take place in the gym area that morning.
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week â a time when we walk with Jesus from celebration to the cross and ultimately to the joy of resurrection. We hope youâll join us as we shout âHosanna!â together and prepare our hearts for Easter.
