Summer Sports Camps Are Back at FUMC!
School may be out, but the fun (and growth) is just getting started at First United Methodist Church Dothan! This summer, our Recreation Ministry is hosting six exciting sports camps for rising 1st–6th grade boys and girls. Each camp is packed with skill-building, faith-centered encouragement, and plenty of fun—led by an amazing team of counselors, guest athletes, and volunteers.
🗓 Camps run Monday–Thursday from 9:00–12:00
💲 Only $35 per child, per camp
📍 All camps are held in the CLC Gym at FUMC Dothan
Whether your child is brand new to sports or looking to level up their skills, these camps offer a safe and welcoming environment where kids can grow—physically, spiritually, and socially. Each day includes sports training, team-building games, and a short devotional focused on character and faith.
This Summer’s Lineup:
🏀 Basketball Camp | June 9–12
Led by collegiate athlete Megan Stewart, this high-energy camp focuses on dribbling, passing, shooting, teamwork, and defense. A great fit for beginners and future point guards alike!
📣 Cheer Camp | June 16–19
Taught by the Dothan Wolves Cheerleaders, this camp builds confidence and cheer skills through chants, jumps, routines, and daily encouragement rooted in faith.
⚾ Wiffleball Camp | June 30–July 3
A relaxed and laughter-filled intro to baseball! Campers learn the basics through wiffleball tournaments, home run derbies, and daily devotionals on teamwork and courage.
🏈 Football Camp | July 7–10
This non-contact camp covers throwing, catching, route running, and footwork—all while building leadership and sportsmanship.
🏐 Volleyball Camp | July 14–17
Also led by Megan Stewart, this camp covers passing, setting, serving, and scrimmaging, with a focus on encouragement and Christ-centered confidence. Still space available—sign up soon!
🔴 Dodgeball Camp | July 21–24
This fast-paced favorite teaches kids strategy, agility, and teamwork in a safe and structured environment. Devotions focus on resilience, grace, and joyful competition.
