Sinful7: Sermon Series

Beginning Sunday, April 26, we embark on a powerful new sermon series at FUMC Dothan: Sinful7—a deep and honest look at the Seven Deadly Sins.

Sin is real. And if we’re honest, each of us wrestles with its presence in our own lives. Since the earliest days of the Church, Christians have named Pride, Envy, Anger, Sloth, Avarice (Greed), Lust, and Gluttony as seven “capital” sins—sins from which many other destructive habits grow. These aren’t just ancient concepts; they are painfully relevant struggles we face today.

But there is good news: we are not without help, and we are not without hope.

Throughout this series, we will explore each of these sins—not to shame or discourage—but to shed light on the ways they distort God’s good creation and to discover how Christ offers freedom, healing, and transformation. The power of Jesus Christ is stronger than our deepest sin and leads us from brokenness into the wholeness and abundant life God desires for us.

Join us each week as we take an honest look at the sins that threaten to unravel us—and as we find our way back to the grace that restores.
Sinful7 begins this Sunday. Bring a friend. Come ready for grace.

“For where sin increased, grace abounded all the more.” – Romans 5:20
