Go deeper this Lent with our online Sermon Study Guides

Published February 26, 2026

As we begin the season of Lent, we invite you to go deeper.

Last year during Lent, we launched our online Sermon Study Guides as a way to help individuals, Sunday School classes, and small groups continue the conversation beyond Sunday morning. We’re grateful to see many of you already using this resource — and this season is the perfect time to jump in if you haven’t yet.

Each week, our study guide is uploaded at the beginning of the week at:

👉 fumcdothan.org/studyguides

The content is pulled directly from that Sunday’s message and is designed to help you reflect, pray, and apply what God is teaching us as a church.

Each guide includes:
• A weekly message summary
• Daily devotionals
• Discussion questions (perfect for groups or families)
• Life application prompts
• A place to watch the sermon or listen to the audio

As we walk through our Lenten series, The Prodigal God: Recovering the Heart of Our Faith by Uncovering the Heart of God, these guides offer yet another way to explore what it means to rediscover the heart of God — and allow Him to reshape ours.  Our sermon series and Lenten Bible studies closely tie together this season, and the study guide serves as a bridge between Sunday worship, midweek studies, and your personal time with the Lord.

At FUMC Dothan, one of our core values is discipleship — growing as followers of Jesus Christ. These resources are one simple but meaningful way we can continue developing that faith together, not just on Sundays, but throughout the week.  If you have questions about how to use the study guides in your class or small group, reach out to Ryan Deaton, our Adult Discipleship & Missions Director. He would love to help you get connected or think through how this resource can serve your group.

Let’s lean in this Lent.  Let’s recover the heart of our faithtogether.
