Dementia care expert, Teepa Snow, helps mark Respite Ministry's milestone

Educator, advocate Teepa Snow joined in to celebrate our Respite Care Ministry’s 10th anniversary by equipping caregivers to serve with patience, dignity, and love.
For the past ten years, Respite Care Ministry has served families in our church and community through caregiver education, training, and practical resources. The ministry also provides a weekly care program that gives caregivers a meaningful break while their loved ones participate in supportive activities designed to encourage connection, dignity, and memory.
This milestone was celebrated recently with a special visit from Teepa Snow, one of the world’s leading educators and advocates in dementia care. With decades of experience, Teepa shared her practical and encouraging approach to understanding brain change, equipping caregivers with tools they could use immediately in their daily care.
The event also marked a meaningful moment for Katie Holland, who helped create and lead Respite Care Ministry from its very beginning. Although Katie retired as director at the end of the year, she remained closely involved to help guide this anniversary celebration. The church family gathered to honor this milestone and to express deep gratitude to Katie for her years of faithful service and compassionate care for the families served through the ministry.
Throughout the day, time was spent reflecting on ten years of Respite Care Ministry—sharing stories, celebrating volunteers and participants, and giving thanks for the work God has built among us. It was a joyful reminder of the impact this ministry has had and the lives it continues to touch.
