MUSIC INTERN
General: The music intern will serve as a chorister in the chancel choir and an assistant to the director of music for one ensemble in the music ministry department. This is a part-time position, averaging approximately five hours per week.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be musically literate and be able to sing.
- Must have one year of experience in a music ensemble.
Preferred:
- Possession of bachelor’s or associate’s degree in music or a current student.
- Be able to play an instrument.
- Experience in vocal music, theater, dance, visual arts, and/or puppetry.
Job Duties:
- Sing in the chancel choir.
- Serve as assistant director and coordinator for one ensemble in the graded music program.
- Recruit and train participants and volunteers for the assigned ensemble.
- Conduct performances in church services and in the community as required.
- Assist with worship planning for the assigned ensemble.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY DIRECTOR
This is a full-time position, averaging approximately forty hours per week.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
- Children’s ministry experience (preferred)
- Background Check (required)
- Drug Test (required)
Principal Duties:
- Provide overall leadership, recruitment, training, & direction with children’s ministries
- Recruit, develop, and equip, children’s ministry volunteers for Children’s Worship, Sunday School, Sunday evening programming, and Wednesday night programming, etc.
- Develop and lead children into being a lifelong disciple of Jesus Christ
- Work with the Children’s Committee to plan, schedule, and prepare new and ongoing programs, ministries, and activities for children
- Collaborate regularly with the Director of Tween ministry to facilitate a seamless transition from Children’s ministry to Tween Ministry
- Communicate frequently with parents to keep them informed about children’s activities, projects, programs, etc.
- Submit communications for church publications and church website to the Director of Publications
- Inform the Media Director of programs and events
- Become proficient with Planning Center, Church Center, and Arena database and software
- Attend weekly staff meetings and other collaborative meetings with staff members
- Implement themes of faith formation and provide curriculum for this implementation
- Plan and direct VBS, Summer children’s camp, and winter retreat and other faith formation opportunities
- Collaborate with music ministries staff about the music needs of children’s ministry
- Develop and submit an annual budget request for children’s ministries to the finance director
- Operate within the children’s ministry budget
- Collaborate and provide regular communications with other FUMC program staff and Clergy
- Abide by & enforce Safe Sanctuaries policies of FUMC
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of attendance for all groups associated with children’s ministries
- Supervise and work collaboratively with the Coordinator of Nursery ministries; understanding that nursey and childcare are the direct responsibility of the Director of Children’s Ministry
- Attend Professional Development on a yearly basis
- Participate in churchwide programs and events
- Be available to staff and church members by maintaining regular office hours as well as returning phone calls & emails
- Work with the Harbor on children’s ministry outreach events
- Other opportunities that may be assigned by the Director of Discipleship Ministries, Senior Pastor, and/or Clergy

PART-TIME CHURCH NURSERY WORKER

Job Description:

If your answer to this question is “yes,” then the Children’s Team at FUMC Dothan needs you!
Our Sunday and weekday evenings children’s ministry is looking for friendly and polite adults (18 and older) to assist in age-appropriate care for our children ages 6 weeks-3 years old. This would include feeding, changing diapers, escorting children to the bathroom, maintaining a safe environment, sitting with and cheerfully interacting with children through games, stories, play and prayer.
Childcare hours include Sunday mornings and evenings as needed. You would also have the option to work during special events like Christmas, Easter, etc. Small group Bible study for adults is offered on Wednesday evenings. Childcare hours would also include these times.

FULL-TIME CUSTODIAN

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Preferred commercial cleaning experience
- Dependable
- Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license
- Able to work independently
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
- Ability to perform physical duties such as lifting and being on one’s feet much of the shift
Principal Duties:
- Ensure FUMC maintains a high standard of cleanliness and a positive image
- Clean and maintain floors, walls, windows, classrooms, restrooms, offices, worship spaces, stairwells, hallways, and other church areas as assigned
- Perform light maintenance
- Set up rooms and worship spaces in preparation for services, meetings, and other church events
- Secure church building after services and other events
- Assist with weddings and funerals
- Inform Director of Buildings & Grounds of maintenance or repair needs and/or equipment servicing or reliability needs
