SUMMER BASKETBALL CAMP FOR KIDS

Who: Boys and Girls ages 6- 14 years old.

Dates: Monday-Thursday, June 2nd –5th

Time: 1:00 pm-3:00pm

Cost:  $15.00 per player

Description:  This camp will be designed to help get our kids ready to play in the Summer Basketball League, which will begin on Monday, June 16th.

BASKETBALL PRACTICE AND JAMBOREE
(For all Summer League Players)

Who:          Boys/Girls  1st grade-9th grade (2008-2009 school year)

Dates:        Monday, June 9th-Tuesday, June 10th

Times:        1:30 p.m.—3:00 p.m.  In the C.L.C.

Cost:           None (This is a pre-requisite to the Summer Basketball League.

Description:        This is the time that we will prepare for our Summer Basketball League. Teams will be formed on Monday, June 9th to play in the Jamboree on June 10th. Real League play will begin on June 16th.    *All League Players should try to attend this 2-Day event.

SUMMER BASKETBALL LEAGUE FOR KIDS

Who:          Boys/Girls  1st grade-9th grade (2008-2009 school year)

Dates:        Monday & Tuesday, June 9th, 10th-League-Wide Practice & Jamboree
                  (See Basketball Practice & Jamboree Flyer)
                  Monday, June 16th, 23rd, 30th, July 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th – League Play

Place:         C.L.C.

Times:        Check Team Game Schedule

                   9:30 a.m.—12:00 noon – Junior League (grades 1st-3rd & 4th-6th)
                   1:30 p.m.—3:00 p.m.   – Youth League (grades 7th-9th)

Cost:           $30.00 per player

Description:        Players will be placed on a Team and play a Round-Robin schedule against the  other teams. Games will be scheduled weekly on Tuesdays.

MEN’S SUMMER BASKETBALL LEAGUE

Who:             Local Men’s Team-Churches or Community

Dates:           Monday, June 16- Organizational Meeting, 7:00 pm
                     (A representative of each Team must be present)
                     Monday, June 23 - League Play Begins and ends on August 7
                     August 11, 14, 18-Tournament Games

Location:       *Monday Night Games will be played at First Baptist, Dothan                                  *Thursday Night Games will be played at First United Methodist, Dothan

Cost:              $215.00 per Team

Description: Only 8 Teams will be accepted into League. First 8 Teams to pay the                                  Entry Fee will get the spots. Teams will play 1-Round-Robin (7-games). All
            Teams will play in the End of League Tournament. They will be seeded
            according to their finish in the Round-Robin.

Rules/Guidelines: 1). All Teams must have Jersey’s that look alike with numbers on                  the back. If Teams do not want to buy their own shirts, they can use    Shirts provided by each Gym. No different colors on the same Team.
                            
2). A Team Roster must be turned in by the first game. Players can be added to a Roster one day in advance of game. (If Team plays on Thursday, players can be added on Wednesday). A Team caught with a player not on their Roster, will have to forfeit that game. 3). No players can be added to a Roster after August 7th. 4). Players can be added to a Roster by calling Clayton     Jordan or Lisa Sandel at 712-9223 or you can email Clayton@fumcdothan.org .

Deadline:    All Fees must be paid by Monday, June 16. Reminder-The first 8 Teams to pay will                    be accepted. Pay as early as possible. * No spots will be held by word of mouth.

Christian Life Center Policies

The Christian Life Center is open to all members of the First United Methodist Church of Dothan, Alabama. Members must be in the 3rd grade or above.

The Leisure Ministries Committee has adopted a permanent I.D. card system.

Each Church member, in the 3rd grade and older, is asked to donate $5.00 toward the cost of their membership card.

Church members 16 years and older who wish to use the Fitness Center, are also asked for an annual donation of $40.00 for an individual or $70.00 for families.

These amounts will be used toward the maintenance and replacement of equipment. There will be a $10.00 fee to replace any originally issued card.

The Christian Life Center is open during the following hours:

Tuesday 8:00 am till 8:00 pm
Wednesday 8:00 am till 8:00 pm
Thursday 8:00 am till 8:00 pm
Friday 8:00 am till 5:00 pm
