Reaching Out: Vacation Bible School 2013: Everywhere Fun Fair
Vacation Bible School is an incredible tool of outreach for our community. Be thinking now of those you could invite, both children and adults. With over 300 children each year, we need every available adult to make VBS happen – and it’s fun! There are jobs to do prior to VBS if you work during the week, as well as supplies that are needed. A: The natural progression at First Methodist is to join our congregation in full membership. This is the way you ally yourself to our mission to “Reach Out” - saying you are fully committed!
Q: How can I join?
A: Come to a breakfast with Pastors Jim and Wes on Sunday, May 12 at 10:00 in the Parlor. Come casual, bring your appetite, we’ll provide the breakfast. The pastors will lead the group in the commitment vows, and you will then be a

Reaching Out: MOTHER’S DAY MENS SING
Ladies, you can stop reading now. Hey guys! Do any of you have or have you
ever had a Mother? Gotcha! Of course you have. So this year, we are going to
give them a gift for Mother’s Day. Whether your Mom is here or with you in spirit, I am inviting ALL men of the church to get together for a one time only event. On Sunday, May 12 (Mother’s Day) ALL men are invited to sing “In the Garden.” We’ll get together at 8:15 for the 8:55 service and at 10:30 for the 11:00 service. I’ll have the music and we’ll run through it quickly. This will be a fun low key way to say “Happy Mother’s Day.” Let me know you’ll be singing by dropping a note in the offering plate or emailing me, Mike Keeley, at michaelkeeley@fumcdothan.org.

Reaching Out: FUMC SUMMER CAMP
Our Summer Camp will begin on Monday, June 3. We have over 50 campers attending this year! There are many needs in a program as large as ours. We invite you to help out if you feel led to do so. All items may be dropped off at the Daycare Office Monday through Thursday, 7:00 to 5:30. Those items include: hula hoops, jump ropes, board games (ages 3 years thru 5th grade), game systems and age appropriate games to go with them, beach towels, foam pool noodles, large blue tarp (prefer a new one), play dough and play dough toys, sand toys, children’s plastic sunglasses, beach umbrella (small size), dress up clothes, infant “boppy pillow” (we need several of these), “new” standard bed pillows, white standard pillow cases, assorted craft kits (for all ages), craft supplies (stickers and stamps). The center is always in need of gently used toys.

Reaching Out: ALL NEW ONLINE GIVING
There are two easy ways for you to make your contributions electronically. You can visit our website, www.fumcdothan.org, and click the on-line giving link. Even easier, you can set up a direct draft from your bank to the church. That option saves the church in transaction fees. Just like the rest of us, the church relies on a steady income to pay bills throughout the year. Online giving will help the church particularly in the upcoming summer travel season. Questions?
